The Best Things about Living in a Big City

Here are some things that I just LOVE about living in a big city...

.... You don't need a clock in your front room because..
                    A) The big city clock is constantly going off
                    B) The TCF clock/Thermometer is right outside your window.
.... Who needs an alarm clock when there are sirens this early in the morning going right by your
                   window
.... It is so wonderful that that someone likes to keep our city well groomed, especially when they
are weed whacking at 7 am right under your window. What a sweetheart.
.... You never feel down about yourself when there are plenty of guys to tell you "How dang good
you look today" or asking you "Hey girl, you gotta boyfriennn?" How nice of them.
.... You save gas by walking or biking because there is a load of traffic.
.... You make lots of friends at school because you shouldn't walk anywhere by yourself.
.... You can't have pets in your apartment, but its ok!, There are plenty of mice to share!
.... You come to realize how lucky you are to know nice people when you are in the city
surrounded by busy people who don't care about you.
.... It is so nice to see a diversity of people on the public transportation, you can even learn
everything about their lives, who doesn't love loud obnoxious people?
.... The fact that the city is probably completely polluted makes a great excuse to have more
beautiful parks right in the middle of things.
....You really get to see a diversity of lifestyles, some have it great and everyone else is struggling.

            *Disclaimer.....This might have been sarcastic.

Choices, People, and Plans

It amazes me that I am more than half way done with my second semester at North Central University. I guess so much has happened, that It seemed to go by too fast. Since last semester, my roommate and I have moved to another hall. Phillips dorms were nice, but miller offers a different experience and a cheaper price! We have a pretty small room, but we don't need much space. I feel like this semester I have done nothing but study (which I should be doing right now because I have a test in Psych tomoro!) and practice music. I am excited about how my music is progressing and how God is growing me as a musician, using HIS gifts to HIS glory. Everyone treats music so differently here than they did in high school, and yet there is still so much talent. It blows my mind how talented some of the students are here! Only a goal to look up to! (:
Registering for classes and filling out FASFA for next year, along with extreme amounts of prayer and consulting with spiritual mentors, has made me really think about the choice to double major. It is extremely expensive and takes a lot of work. I have decided to study only Music Performance and enhance the gift God has given me. Why stop Intercultural Studies? Being a missionary or working overseas to HIS glory does not require a major. I feel like no matter what I do, whether it be ministering overseas or ministry here in the States, I know that it will involve music. Choosing not to be an ICS major in no way takes away the possibility of ministering overseas. My ministry would be music, and I know God will use me where He needs me! I am excited to become the best musician I can be so that He can put me where he needs me in His church.
This last month has been full of new plans and new people. Tomorrow, my boyfriend Ryan and I will have our first month anniversary. This has been quite a month, but it has gone by so fast! He is such a blessing to me and such a great friend! He has such a heart for God and I am excited to continue to get to know him! This month, I also got a job with Starbucks downtown! This is such a blessing and I thank God everyday for the opportunity! I start on April 3rd! Next Tuesday! I am excited and nervous and grateful all at the same time! This means, I will be living in Minneapolis this summer at NCU and continuing to work at Starbucks! So thankful! (:
I have also decided that in the next three years, I really want to make it a goal to visit Europe. I am so amazed at Gods world and the people He has created and their different cultures. Backpacking through Europe has always been a dream, and I have decided to set aside a little bit of money each paycheck for Europe and slowly move toward that goal. It seems like such a big goal, but I know that in His timing things will work out! (: I am still also waiting on confirmation for a missions trip and waiting for HIM to lead me to the right one!
You are all in my prayers, and I thank you for your continued prayers! Be blessed today, and everyday!

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord," Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future." Be excited about HIS plan! (:
